In the Tutak district of Ağrı, the passenger bus collided with two trucks with a broken brake. The accident in which the vehicles caught fire killed 7 people and injured 18 people, two of them seriously. An investigation has been launched into the accident.
In Ağrı, the passenger bus’s brake failed, the bus traveling in the opposite lane collided with two trucks.
The accident occurred in Tutak district. His truck loaded with sugar beets was overturned in the district center and transportation was provided over one lane of the road.
While work to lift the truck continued, the brake of the passenger bus going from Van to Ağrı gave way.
The bus hit a truck coming from the opposite direction and then the truck which overturned and caught fire.
After the report, a large number of health, fire and gendarmerie teams were sent to the scene. The teams mobilized to rescue the people on the bus.
7 people died in the accident, 18 people were injured. Two of the injured, who were treated in the surrounding hospitals, are in serious condition.
Due to the accident, the Van-Ağrı highway was temporarily closed. An investigation has been launched by the Public Prosecution Service of Tutak under the Public Prosecution Service of Patnos into the accident. Two prosecutors have been assigned to the investigation.
Derya Yanık, Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services, also stated that the Ministry’s psychosocial support teams were on site and that they were closely monitoring the situation of the families.
