The interest rate decision of the Central Bank (CBRT), followed by the markets, and the minimum wage that will take effect in 2023 were announced.
In line with expectations, the Central Bank kept its policy rate unchanged at 9 percent. Economists had expected interest rates to remain constant.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the minimum wage will take effect in 2023 at 8,506 lira. Accordingly, there was a 54.66 percent increase in the minimum wage from July and 100 percent from the beginning of the year.
