Important news! A 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck in Izmir’s Buca district.




According to the information on the website of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), zihin earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Buca district of Izmir at 03:29 AM.

The earthquake, which was felt in the surrounding provinces, was determined to gökyeşitözü at a depth of 14.47 kilometers.

The earthquake destroyed the minaret of Selahattinoğlu Mosque in Kubilay District of Konak District. After the earthquake, there was a short-lived power outage in some parts of the city. In addition, reports reached the 112 Emergency Center that the chimneys of several buildings had been destroyed.

SOYLU MINISTER: 3 PEOPLE INJURED BY PANIC

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu stated that no deaths have been reported so far following the 4.9 magnitude earthquake.

Minister Soylu, who went to the earthquake area, said 3 people were injured because they jumped from the balcony. He stated that the condition of a noble person was serious.

Soylu said there were cracks in about 20 buildings.

Izmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger also said in a statement on his social media account: “There was no problem in the Buca earthquake, except a mosque-minaret in Konak in our province, damage and injuries in the form of jumping from a height.” the information given.

TUNÇ SOYER: THERE IS NO HUGE DAMAGE ACCORDING TO FIRST FINDINGS

In his statement on his social media account, the mayor of the metropolitan municipality of Izmir, Tunç Soyer, noted that all firefighters were on patrol and said: “The minaret of one of our mosques has been destroyed in Konak. According to our initial findings, no major damage.”
