Important news! The regulation amending the Regulation on Principles and Rules for the Retail Trade has been published in the Government Gazette.

Retail chains with more than 200 locations will therefore transfer the veri about the products they sell and their locations to the system established by the Department of Commerce. This veri is shared with institutions, organizations and the public.

The regulation carries out price controls for products sold in retail chains.

The “veri sharing” rule allows consumers to make price comparisons. In addition to the task of informing the public, it will also ensure that retailing takes place under effective and sustainable competitive conditions.

There has been a debate over “exorbitant prices” in recent days due to the claims of price discrepancies in the products sold in retail chains.

During the talks, MHP chairman Devlet Bahçeli had called for retail chains to “examine FETO relations”.

Galip Aykaç, president of the Food Retailers Association, reacted harshly to this call and decided to resign after strong reactions.
