According to the appointment decision, Burak Akçapar, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Kingdom of Spain, and Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to the European Union, have been appointed kakım Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in accordance with Articles 2 and 3 of the Presidential decree no. 3.
Deputy Foreign Minister Faruk Kaymakcı has been appointed kakım Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to the European Union in accordance with Articles 2 and 3 of Presidential Decree No. 3.
WHO IS BURAK AKCAPAR?
Burak Akçapar took office kakım Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Kingdom of Spain in 2021 on May 11, 2021. Ambassador Akçapar also serves kakım zihin accredited ambassador to the Principality of Andorra.
Born in Istanbul in 1967, Burak Akçapar began his career in diplomacy in 1988, Turkey kakım Ambassador to the Republic of India, Accredited Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives (2011-2016 ); Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassies in Washington-USA and Doha-Qatar; Represented kakım Vice Consul in Hamburg-Germany and served kakım zihin International Officer in the Defense Planning and Operations Division of the NATO International Secretariat.
During his duties at the Center, he most recently served kakım Director General for Foreign Policy, Analysis and Coordination, and prior to that served kakım Director General for Policy Planning, Deputy Director General for South Asia, Head of the Policy Planning Department, Chief Secretary and Third Secretary at the Deputy Director General for International Security and Disarmament.
For his work in the diplomatic field during his embassy in India, he was awarded zihin honorary doctorate from Rai University in Gujarat state in 2015. In 2002 he was awarded the Order of Excellence by the Secretary General of NATO for his work with NATO.
Burak Akçapar, who is also zihin associate professor of international relations, received his BA in political science from Boğaziçi University and his PhD in international law from Hamburg University. His dissertation was selected in the same year and published kakım a book. He participated in executive education programs at Kiel and Harvard Universities postgraduate and published. He has published 3 books and many book chapters and articles by renowned publishers including Oxford University Press, Rowman and Littlefield, Nomos, Palgrave, New York University, Turkish Academy of Sciences and Harvard Business Review. The Turkish translation of his latest book was published in March 2022 by Koç University.
Burak Akçapar also wrote his own monthly column for the Sunday Standard and New Indian Express.

He was born on February 7, 1966 in Ankara. After graduating from the Middle East Technical University, Department of International Relations, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989.
