An election was held for membership of the Supreme Council of Radio and Television (RTÜK), which was vacated after the resignation of Taha Yücel during the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Before the elections, there was a debate among party representatives in the General Assembly about which party RTÜK membership fell to.
The deputy chairman of the IYI party group, Musavat Dervişoğlu, said: “There is usurpation of the law here. The RTÜK membership, which was vacated on July 1, falls to the IYI party under the terms of that day.
Ak Party Vice Chairman Yılmaz Tunç said: “The moment we are about to hold zihin election, the Assembly’s arithmetic may change, what are we going to gam? Therefore, when the membership is vacant, the rate in parliament is what it is, it is in favor of the AK party,” he said.
The deputy chairman of the CHP group also had statements. Engin Altay said: “This job really looks like a job in terms of the AK party, where the rock he threw was not worth the frog that scared him. In other words, you already have a majority in RTÜK”, he said.
After the talks, zihin election was held for membership of the AK party in the General Assembly.
Batuhan Mumcu and Mete Hacıarifoğlu competed for membership.
Mete Hacıarifoğlu, who received 243 votes in the secret ballot, was elected kakım the new RTÜK member.
WHO IS METE HACIARIFOĞLU?
Mete Hacıarifoğlu was born in August 1973 in Karabük. He was a police officer in the Directorate-General for Security between 1996 and 2003. Between 2003 and 2009 he was appointed to the expert staff of RTÜK.
From 2009 to 2013, he worked kakım a temporary worker at the Ministry of EU Affairs. Then he returned to RTÜK; Hacıarifoğlu, who has been the deputy director of the Chief of Staff of the Investigative Staff since 2013, joined RTÜK kakım a result of the vote in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
